AMERICAN LEGION PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION

FOR GOD AND COUNTRY WE ASSOCIATE OURSELVES TOGETHER FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES: To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America To maintain law and order To foster and perpetuate a one hundred percent Americanism To preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in the Great Wars To inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation To combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses To make right the master of might To promote peace and goodwill on earth To safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy To consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.

Our Mission

To enhance the well-being of America's veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness. The American Legion's vision statement is "The American Legion: Veterans Strengthening America." The American Legion's value principles are as follows:

which means The American Legion embraces all current and former members of the military and endeavors to help them transition into their communities.

Eligibility Information

If you have served federal active duty in the United States Armed Forces during any of the war eras listed below, and have been honorably discharged or are still serving -- you are eligible for membership in The American Legion!

Jack Caniglia

Post Commander

My vision for the Post is first that we are a family, whether you are Legionnaires, Auxiliary, and Sons of the American Legion. As a team we build and foster positive relationships with fellow veterans. Our vision is take care of veterans and the community in which they reside. We are not a bar, We are a family!

Malcolm Wright

1st Vice Commander

I would love to see to more community and volunteer involvement within the post. Some of our functions are American Legion Riders, Boy State, Girls state, ROTC involvement and so much more. My hope is with upgrades to our facility that we can better serve our veterans and meet the needs of our legion family. I hope that the Legion can become a well known location that is both family friendly and community forward. We are far more than a canteen, we are a family first. I fully support forward progression to a more successful Legion post rich with history, tradition, values and honor.

My wife and I have been members since 2009. Since the first day we arrived we have been welcomed into a warm atmosphere. The welcoming ambiance from the Legion Hall has made it possible for us to be fully involved with our community and veterans locally. We have not only had a positive impression of the legionnaires it has also been exceptionally fun. With the passing of my wife I have become more of a stalwart for the Post.

My vision is to continue a tradition of a family friendly post where all members are welcome to support our event internally and with the public. We are striving to meet to posts’ goal to build a new structure to better serve our legion family that is veteran forward..

Karl Hammerle

Finance Officer

My primary function is to manage the financial resources of the post and ensure that funding for projects is available as needed. My goal is to see us breaking ground for the new building to better serve our community and our veterans. My hope is to see more people volunteering and getting involved with the functions necessary to support the post.

James Burleigh

Chaplain and Sergeant at Arms

As the Chaplain, I am the poc at the post for any religious issues, if there is a member that is in need of our service. I help to be a liaison between the American legion Post and members for afterlife planning and whatever support and services we can provide. In the future, I would love to see the construction of our new facility to support our veterans, their families, and our community. Please come volunteer for our upcoming holiday events.

John Grunalt

Historian

I joined the legion looking for comradery, brotherhood and the safety of being with other Veterans. Through documenting events throughout the year I hope to fully capture how much this Organization truly loves its veterans and community members. I would love to see this family grow and flourish to its fullest in everything we do.
